Record attendance at Anuga FoodTec

Attendance at the Anuga FoodTec fair for the food and beverage industry increased by over 6 percent to over 45,000 visitors.

The event took place in Cologne last month. In addition to the overall increase, international attendance at the trade fair was again over 50 percent, emphasising the international nature of the event, and the number of exhibitors was up by 14 percent.

“The cross-process, raw material-independent concept is highly welcomed by both the exhibitors and the visitors. As such Anuga FoodTec has been able to grow successfully over the years and continually further develop in terms of quality,” said Katharina C Hamma, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse, which produces AnugaFoodTec.

The trade fair was divided into five areas: food processing, food packaging, food safety, ingredients, and services and solutions. The theme of the event was resource efficiency and the section of the programme dedicated to that theme contained a presentation on fibre-based packaging from sustainable forest management by Ulrich Malessa from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Germany.

A database of the new products presented by exhibitors at the fair is available here. The next Anuga FoodTec will take place in March 2018.
