New set-up in Europe for Kuehne + Nagel

Leading logistics company Kuehne + Nagel has announced that it is restructuring its European business with effect from 1 October this year.

In order to take optimum advantage of opportunities in the European markets, there will be two units foing forward – Central/Eastern Europe and Western Europe. Kuehne + Nagel will consolidate the German organisation and the Eastern European countries under the umbrella of the region Central/Eastern Europe with its head office in Hamburg. The region Western Europe will be headquartered in Amsterdam, in The Netherlands.

Dr Hansjoerg Rodi will join the Kuehne + Nagel Group from 1 October and lead the Central/Eastern Europe region. From 2008 to 2015 Dr Rodi was Chief Executive Officer Central Europe region at DB Schenker Logistics.

Peder Winther will become Regional Manager Western Europe. The successor to his current position as Head of the Middle East/Africa region has been named as Erwin Wittemaier.

Dr Detlef Trefzger, CEO of Kuehne + Nagel International AG, said: “The establishment of two equally strong European regions will enable us to manage our business in Europe even more focused. We are very pleased to promote two experienced Kuehne + Nagel senior managers and – at the same time – to have an external top executive joining our company.”
