Hoyer Group welcomes new chief financial officer

Hoyer Group has announced the appointment of their new chief financial officer, Dr Torben Reher, in place of Gerd Peters who has been with the company for more than 13 years.

Hoyer Group welcomed new chief financial officer

Dr Reher, together with chief executive officer (CEO), Björn Schniederkötter, will form the executive board of the Hamburg-based logistics company.

Dr Torben Reher – a Doctor of laws with an MBA degree – comes from the Liebherr Group of companies, where he has worked since beginning his professional life. Dr Reher held various management positions in the family-run technology company at several national and international sites, including in Asia and the Middle East, before being appointed chief financial officer for Liebherr USA in 2016.

Putting values into practice

Giving reasons for the personnel decision, Thomas Hoyer, chairman of the advisory board of the HOYER Group, said: “As a family business, value-oriented actions are more important to us than short-term financial effects. We are confident that Dr Reher will put these values into practice, and together with Mr. Schniederkötter he will achieve the long-term, sustainable further development of our company.”

Dr Reher said: “HOYER has an excellent reputation as an international logistics company for specialised liquid goods. Values are a solid anchor for the entire company. That is particularly important for me. At the same time, HOYER has a high innovative dynamic and a clear focus on added value for customers. That was what convinced me.”

Gerd Peters will undertake overall entrepreneurial responsibility in another group of companies of the Hoyer family.

Maintaining stable financial conditions

“I have shared in the development of the HOYER Group over a long period of time. We were always able to maintain stable financial conditions and a healthy balance sheet structure in spite of economic and political crises”, said Peters. “I look forward to my new task.”

Thomas Hoyer adds, “We thank Mr Peters for his services to HOYER and his exceptional loyalty to the company. He leaves behind a financially strong group of companies. We now welcome Dr Reher, and look optimistically to the future together.”
