The factory in Pasadena, Texas, is SCHÜTZ’s fifth steel drum plant worldwide; in 2016, it was the first new steel drum production facility in the United States in more than 20 years.
Until now, SCHÜTZ has produced both lined and unlined tight-head steel drums with a variety of material thicknesses to meet various UN performance requirements. The range is now being expanded to include open-head steel drums.
In the ultra-modern plant, open-head steel drums can also be customized by adding decoration to the body of the drum through screen printing. The expansion enables even greater supply security and maximum flexibility. Customers in the region can now purchase 100 % of their steel drum requirements with our full product offering on steel drums.
The SCHÜTZ production site is conveniently located just outside the city of Houston. The region is dominated by the oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical industries, making it one of the most dynamic markets for industrial packaging in the USA.
The plant has a direct link to the rail network as well as convenient access to the I-45 and I-10 highways, which gives exceptional transport flexibility for raw materials and the ability to ship out finished products in an environmentally friendly manner.
