Logistics UK launches podcast series

Logistics UK, one of the UK’s leading business groups, has released a new Executive Membership podcast series called Leading on Logistics, which provides expert insight and examines the challenges and opportunities currently facing the logistics industry.

The first episode launched on 30 September. Hosted by former BBC presenter and producer Mike Young, the opening episode focuses on skills and explores some of the key findings from the business group’s recently published Skills Insight Report.

In honour of national podcast day, the first episode is free to all, but following episodes will be part of the exclusive offering for executive members.

Kevin Green, director at Logistics UK, commented: “Logistics is a complex and fast-paced sector. I am delighted that Logistics UK can share this podcast with industry, to enable logistics leaders across the country to access the information they need about current issues, on the go. Leading on Logistics will feature thought-provoking discussions and in-depth analysis into the significant issues and barriers challenging our sector and the possible solutions to overcome them.

“Our first episode sees Mr Young interview a number of skills specialists including Kate Shoesmith, deputy CEO of the Recruitment Employment Confederation; Lynn Brown, vice president of human resources at XPO Logistics; people director at Wincanton, Jo Pick and Nick Graham, head of external networks at Eddie Stobart, regarding the current skills shortages across our industry and what the sector needs to help plug the skills gap. Those in the logistics industry – and wider businesses – should find it an excellent tool to add to their business armoury and I urge all to tune in.”
