Passing of Henrik Klinge

Henrik Klinge, of transport refrigeration specialist, Klinge Corporation, died on 18 November.

His career journey began with a family business in 1971, following in the footsteps of his father, Paul, who founded the original Klinge business shortly after World War II.

Together, Henrik and Paul steered the business through transformative growth, establishing Klinge as a trusted name in container refrigeration equipment for marine transport and beyond.

Henrik moved to the United States in 1986 to lead the company’s new North American operations in York, Pennsylvania, where he expanded the business’ offerings and client base.

Under his leadership, the company introduced groundbreaking innovations such as tank container refrigeration and explosion-proof equipment for the oil and gas industry, securing contracts with major clients, including the Australian and Swedish Defence Forces.

Beyond professional achievements, Henrik was a dedicated family man who exemplified the values of integrity, perseverance, and adaptability. His unwavering commitment to maintaining the family legacy has inspired three generations of leadership at Klinge Corporation, with his son Allan Klinge taking the helm as CEO in 2022.

Henrik’s influence extended far beyond the business world. He was deeply respected for his mentorship, technical expertise, and ability to forge lasting relationships across multiple industries.
