TALKE USA receives THIVE grant to introduce hydrogen-powered trucks

TALKE USA has been awarded the Texas Hydrogen Infrastructure, Vehicle, and Equipment (THIVE) grant from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

This grant significantly supports TALKE’s journey towards decarbonisation in the logistics sector and it will support the introduction of hydrogen-powered trucks in the US.

The funding will enable TALKE to replace two conventional combustion engine trucks with zero-emission hydrogen vehicles. The new fuel-cell vehicles are expected to be fully implemented and operational by 2025.

“Our goal is to continuously reduce our CO₂ emissions by investing in cutting-edge technologies and efficient processes,” said Alexander Boehm, chief operating officer of TALKE USA.

“This grant brings us one step closer to our goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, while maintaining the high standards of service our customers expect.”

Richard Heath, CEO and president of TALKE USA, Inc., added: “The industry will continue to rely on grant funding until hydrogen technology reaches a certain level of commercialisation, and production scales up, and until sufficient fuelling infrastructure is established.

“ We are happy to be operating in the Houston area, one of the regions selected as a hydrogen hub, which aligns perfectly with our long-term goals of operational excellence and environmental responsibility.”
