Port of Liverpool joins forces with Chane in liquid bulk partnership

Peel Ports Group has announced a commercial partnership with liquid bulk storage operator Chane, targeting growth in bulk liquid cargo volumes through the Port of Liverpool.

Chane, one of Europe’s largest bulk operators, already operates its main UK terminal at the Port of Liverpool and is planning further capacity expansion at the site to broaden the range of liquid products it can handle.

Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly pursue new and existing importers and exporters, combining Chane’s specialist storage expertise with Peel Ports’ infrastructure and port network. The partnership will focus commercial outreach across key industrial sectors, with liquid bulk demand being driven by shifting energy requirements, rising biofuel adoption, and growing need for chemical and food-grade logistics solutions.

Phil Hall, port director at the Port of Liverpool, said the tie-up would strengthen the port’s ability to serve customers across multiple high-growth sectors. ‘Liquid bulk is becoming an increasingly important aspect of our cargo offering,’ he said. ‘We look forward to working more closely with their teams, which we believe can help us both reach new markets across the UK and beyond.’

Andrew Shaw, terminal manager at Chane, said the partnership would build on the company’s existing Liverpool presence. ‘By combining our specialist expertise with Peel Ports Group’s extensive infrastructure and strategic locations, we are well positioned to support even more customers with safe, efficient and scalable liquid bulk solutions.’
