DP World launches EcoRoute supply chain emissions platform

DP World has launched EcoRoute, a suite of solutions designed to help businesses reduce supply chain emissions while improving network efficiency and resilience.

The platform combines four elements: supply chain network optimisation balancing cost, speed and carbon; lower-carbon logistics options including modal shift, alternative fuels and electric transport; carbon insetting programmes that generate verified emissions reductions within customers’ own logistics value chains; and an emissions measurement tool powered by EcoTransIT World and aligned with ISO 14083.

DP World cited several customer examples to illustrate the platform’s potential. In Africa, a centralised logistics control tower helped a major retailer increase transported volumes by 45% while expanding its fleet by only 5%. In India, a multimodal rail and coastal solution reduced transport emissions by 78% on the Chennai–Kolkata corridor. Through its carbon inset programmes at Southampton and London Gateway, DP World generated more than 9,400 tonnes of verified CO2 insets across 257,000 TEU of cargo in 2025.

Beat Simon, Group Chief Operating Officer for Logistics at DP World, said a well-connected supply chain is a more sustainable one, with EcoRoute combining connectivity, data and operational expertise across the company’s global network.

Freight and logistics account for approximately 10% of global energy-related CO2 emissions, with tightening regulation and investor scrutiny increasing pressure on businesses to demonstrate supply chain sustainability credentials.
