Rygor Auto has delivered the UK’s first Mercedes-Benz Arocs Extent — a strictly limited special edition built in a run of just 100 units across Europe — to longstanding customer MJ Freeth, marking the first tipper variant of the model to enter service in the country.
MJ Freeth, founded by owner and director Matt Freeth in 2009, operates a specialist fleet focused on subcontracted quarrying and construction logistics, handling aggregates, crushed materials and demolition recovery. The Arocs Extent will now form part of the company’s all-Mercedes-Benz tipper operation.
Freeth said the decision to continue investing in the brand reflected a longstanding confidence built up over years of ownership. “I started out with a second-hand Mercedes-Benz truck, then added another, and then started to buy new,” he said. “They’re really well-made with a tough chassis that’s built for the construction industry, and the backup from Rygor has always been excellent.”
The Extent was specified in collaboration with Rygor, with much of the standard package already aligned to MJ Freeth’s usual requirements. Exterior enhancements include a matte Weather Grey front grille, LED headlights, custom decals and dark chrome lettering, while the cab features a leather steering wheel and the latest Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 system with integrated navigation. The vehicle is powered by Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ latest-generation Euro VI diesel engines.
Marcus Cahalin, sales executive at Rygor Auto, said the Arocs platform was purpose-built for construction rather than adapted from a haulage chassis. The delivery is backed by an Extent Plus warranty — a Mercedes-Benz-supported five-year bumper-to-bumper package.
