The facility, which commenced operations in July 2026, includes integrated production lines for IBCs and PE drums alongside a dedicated steel components plant—only the second of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region. The location at Vietnam’s largest container port offers immediate logistics advantages: shorter transport routes and reduced delivery times cut the carbon footprint across the entire supply chain while improving distributor access to stock.
Initial production focuses on the popular ECOBULK MX and SX 1000 IBC models, plus the F1 220-litre tighthead drum, with plans for a broader product range as capacity scales. The steel components plant addresses a key constraint for regional manufacturers: local material supply has been a bottleneck for distributors servicing the wider Southeast Asia market, and on-site component production now ensures continuous availability and reduces lead times for customers throughout the region.
Like all Schütz plants globally, the Vietnam site will carry FSSC 22000 certification, meeting international standards for quality and food safety. The facility represents Schütz’s second regional component hub strategy, designed to reduce reliance on long-haul imports while maintaining the company’s packaging portfolio breadth.
The expansion signals Schütz’s sustained commitment to Asian market growth and reflects broader industry trends toward regional manufacturing nodes that balance cost, speed, and sustainability.
