The partnership brings together SCHÜTZ’s global manufacturing expertise with Packaging Laundry’s position as Ireland’s largest IBC reconditioner. Founded in 2017 by Bernard and Norman Lee as a spin-off from the family’s long-established Industrial Packaging Ltd business, Packaging Laundry operates from a site in Bray and offers IBC reconditioning, UN-certified rebottling, and recycling of IBCs, PE drums and jerrycans, alongside professional reconditioning of plastic and steel drums.
The Lee family has distributed SCHÜTZ products in Ireland for several years through Industrial Packaging Ltd, which has manufactured and distributed industrial packaging since 1947. The new agreement formalises a deeper operational relationship under the RECOBULK brand.
To support the expanded partnership, Packaging Laundry is investing in new equipment including a washing line, a rebottling line and a shredding line, ensuring reconditioning is carried out to uniform SCHÜTZ standards.
The tie-up is timed ahead of the implementation of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) in August 2026, giving Irish businesses across sectors a ready route to meeting incoming sustainability requirements through closed-loop packaging cycles.
SCHÜTZ already has an established Irish presence through SCHÜTZ Ireland and GEM Plastics.
