HOYER Switzerland expands e‑truck fleet to accelerate low‑carbon liquid‑goods transport
HOYER has strengthened its decarbonisation strategy in Switzerland with the deployment of four fully electric trucks, expanding the logistics group’s fleet of alternative drive technologies and advancing the shift to lower‑emission liquid‑goods transport across regular operations.
The e‑trucks have been integrated into daily route planning and are supported by an intelligent charging system that manages energy supply according to the next day’s schedule.
HOYER says the combination of electric drive technology and smart charging delivers both operational reliability and meaningful emissions reductions. Early performance data from liquid‑gas transport operations in Switzerland confirm the vehicles’ suitability for demanding, safety‑critical logistics tasks.
The move forms part of HOYER’s broader strategy to scale sustainable, customer‑focused transport solutions.
Across Europe, the company already operates hydrogen, LNG and CNG trucks in plant logistics and long‑haul routes, alongside electric industrial trucks in warehousing. The Swiss deployment reinforces this technology‑neutral approach, selecting the most efficient and sustainable drive system for each customer requirement.
Thies Grage, director SHEQS at HOYER, said the new vehicles deliver substantial efficiency gains: “By deploying fully electric vehicles, we can reduce our energy consumption by around two‑thirds compared with diesel engines. These gains are central to our decarbonisation ambitions and support long‑term emissions reduction across our transport solutions.”
Martin Pauli, head of Fleet Gas Logistics, added that HOYER’s operational experience shows tailored, technology‑neutral fleet selection currently delivers the strongest results for customers, balancing sustainability with performance and reliability.
The e‑trucks complement HOYER’s existing alternative‑drive fleet, including long‑running CNG and LNG operations in Germany and a fuel‑cell truck that has demonstrated consistently high performance over its first year in service.
The group is also expanding its fleet of electric forklifts, with new units to be deployed in Austria from Q3 2026 under a recently awarded logistics contract.
