HOYER Group hands board to third generation as family succession continues

Global bulk logistics specialist HOYER has appointed third-generation family shareholders to its Advisory Board for the first time, marking the second major generational handover in the company’s 80-year history.

Thomas R. J. Hoyer has stepped down as Advisory Board Chair, handing the role to Hans-Georg Frey, an external expert who previously chaired the Executive and Supervisory Boards of Jungheinrich and has served on HOYER’s Advisory Board for nine years.

Third-generation family members Nikola Dieterich and Nikolaus Glasmacher join the board alongside external industry specialists Michael Ziesemer (former COO Endress+Hauser) and Hans-Christian Sievers (former CEO HELM AG). Dieterich brings expertise in business administration, tax law and governance; Glasmacher focuses on business model development, digitalisation, innovation and growth.

The succession represents a staged transition: Walter Hoyer led the company for over 45 years, Thomas Hoyer for more than 35 years. Second-generation members Thomas R. J. Hoyer and Martina Hoyer-Hertel continue in consultative roles.

‘This step is the logical continuation of a path we, as a family-owned business, have followed for decades. We think and act on a multi-generational timescale,’ said Thomas R. J. Hoyer.

HOYER operates across 100+ countries in chemical, food, gas and mineral oil bulk logistics. The company reported EcoVadis Gold Medal status for sustainability and corporate governance commitments.
