Western Global introduces FuelCube Type-S

Western Global has introduced the FuelCube Type-S, a compact fuel tank that fits into the back of a truck.

The product is designed to safely transport and dispense diesel fuel when and where it is needed without hazardous material placard requirements, according to the company. It also includes increased versatility and security features.

The tank possesses dual-purpose adaptability, allowing businesses to utilise it as a truck bed tank or an on-site tank, according to Western Global.

The FuelCube Type-S features a 119-gallon capacity and is optimal for 3/4-ton pickups or larger due to the tank’s weight when filled with fuel, it added.

Western Global continued that contractors can easily lift this tank out of the truck using the tank’s four-way forklift pockets, thus increasing contractors’ efficiency. Valuable truck bed space can be used, whilst the tank acts as a stationary refueler, to ensure operation continues. Corner brackets make the tank stackable when empty to save space on the jobsite when removed from the truck.

The product was designed with durability in mind, said Western Global. It features built-in, weatherproof, 110% double-walled containment that eliminates the need for pans or basins. This significantly reduces the potential of an operation-halting fuel spill, should the tank become damaged, it said.

The FuelCube Type-S also offers heightened security with a lockable equipment cabinet to protect the pump and feed/return lines. Additionally, the equipment cabinet promotes longer pump and hose life by shielding the components from the elements.

“The FuelCube Type-S propels Western Global into a new sector,” said Jeff Lowe, vice president of product marketing at Western Global. “Operations have been using traditional slip tanks to refuel smaller diesel equipment fleets without the need for hazardous materials placarding, but they’re looking for a more secure, user-friendly option. We are excited to expand our FuelCube line to offer an optimal solution for this market.

“Slip tanks are ubiquitous in the equipment landscape,” Lowe continued. “Despite that, they’re difficult to unload and vulnerable to fuel theft. That’s why we’re eager to offer operators a product with more adaptability, mobility and security to optimise their fueling experience.”

The product is only available in the US.
