Record attendance for PBLA in Dubai

The Premier Bulk Liquids Alliance (PBLA) recently held its fourth global network meeting in Dubai with a record attendance of members and partners.

Forty-five countries were represented with close to 400 partner meetings taking place over the two days.

PBLA’s Jason Wright highlighted in the introduction the marked increase in new members in the past few months, now reaching a coverage of 63 countries.

This was followed by a keynote presentation by a leading bulk liquid industrial commodity trader, who reaffirmed the importance of choosing the right bulk liquid logistics partner for door-to-door bulk shipments.

The opening remarks concluded with a public recognition of the first six members to celebrate their five-year PBLA membership anniversary, a milestone in the short history of the network.

On the second day of the event a series of voluntary attended workshops took place starting with a session discussing the newly launched global ISO tank container platform powered by HubX360, a unique and innovative tool for ISO tank operators, agents and users with preferred access to PBLA members.

The second session revolved around Flexitank removal and disposal practices in different parts of the world as explained by several members, and the options available to them in their specific regions. As a result, it was agreed to conduct a global survey on volumes and commodities shipped in flexitanks so as to approach the challenges of flexitank disposal at destination with specific global waste management companies.

The third session discussed the collective participation in the 16th World Bulk Wine Exhibition in November, in Amsterdam, whereby bulk wine logistics focused PBLA members from 10 different wine producing countries can exhibit at a single booth.

This will give these members a showcase opportunity to meet not only existing customers, but also an occasion to meet and gain new ones. By creating a multinational logistics booth, PBLA expects to attract a one stop shop, where wine shippers, buyers, brokers, and traders can have all their bulk wine shipment needs covered.

PBLA said that as its events continue to grow and exceed participants’ expectations, it is attracting increased interest from both ISO tank and flexitank operators from around the world enhancing its membership and global coverage. The next global event will take part in the first quarter of 2025 and will be announced shortly.

Jason Wright will be attending the transport logistic China event in Shanghai (25-27 June) and will be available to meet people from the industry.
