Kisters, Tecvia develop modernised DG transport database

Aachen-based IT company Kisters and information provider Tecvia Media, part of publishing house Heinrich Vogel, have partnered to establish a new, modernised dangerous goods (DG) database.

Since 5 March, this has been online in the ‘Promotion’ section of the GEFAHR/GUT job portal.

The new database expands the range of functions of the GEFAHR/GUT work portal. DG managers now have an even more powerful tool for daily practice.

The aim of the development is to provide a much more efficient and intuitive search for all relevant regulations relating to each UN number. At the same time, the new database supports the legally compliant preparation of transport documents and IMO declarations.

It offers the following functions:

Management of dangerous goods transports and preparation of transport documents for road, rail and sea. The selection has also been expanded to include the handling of dangerous goods in multimodal transport;

Automatic inspection of approved packaging, transport bans and loading bans every time a transport document is created;

Structured information on dangerous goods by mode of transport in accordance with the 3.2 ADR/RID/IMDG Code;

Modernised, user-friendly interface for faster and more structured work processes;

Management of master data for dangerous goods processes.

The integration of these functions into the new DG database is claimed to strengthen the security of dangerous goods safety advisors and supports companies in implementing regulatory requirements efficiently and reliably.
