The system uses Mecanum-style omnidirectional wheels — a technology more commonly associated with industrial robotics — allowing the hose to move freely in any direction across virtually any terrain, without the need for manual dragging or repositioning.
“The idea was simple: reduce the physical burden on operators while extending the working life of the hose itself,” said Xavier Pineaud, CEO of Hose-Pull. “Friction is one of the biggest causes of hose wear, and it is also one of the most physically taxing parts of the job for teams on the ground.”
While originally developed with firefighters in mind, Hose-Pull has found applications across a range of industries, including: industrial tank cleaning and fluid transfer, civil security operations, oil & gas, wine-making (vat room hose handling), aeronautics and cement works, and hydro-excavation and truck unloading.
The product is offered in three standard cradle sizes (70mm, 75mm and 110mm), with adapters available to cover all hose diameters below 110mm — allowing the system to adapt to existing equipment fleets rather than requiring a full replacement. Bespoke solutions are also available for sizes larger than 110 mm, up to 8ft.
Hose-Pull is currently deployed in more than 30 countries, and the company continues to expand its distributor network internationally, with recent interest from major players in the firefighting equipment sector.
