Held from 21–23 October 2025 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, the event will bring together the global container community for three days of business, networking and expert-led content – with a completely new conference structure and an expanded exhibition floor.
This year’s conference programme, running across two dedicated theatres for all three days, is built around the themes of “Agility, Reliability and Responsibility”. Sessions will explore the sector’s most pressing topics, from decarbonisation and digitalisation to regulation, fleet strategy and operational resilience.
“This year, we’re pulling out all the stops to make the conference the best it’s ever been,” said Bonnie Cliff, Conference Manager for Intermodal Events.
“You can expect thought-leaders from across the container supply chain – and plenty of opportunities to put your questions to the experts.”
The “Intermodal Theatre” will focus on container transport and multimodal operations, while the “Future Freight Forum” will spotlight technology and innovation – including smart tracking, AI, automation and sustainability in action.
This year also marks the first time Intermodal Europe will be held in Barcelona, with the Port of Barcelona joining as the official Host Port.
“The Port of Barcelona is proud to support Intermodal Europe 2025 as it celebrates its 50th anniversary in our city,” said Carles Mayol, Head of the Container Division at the Port of Barcelona.
“This collaboration highlights our shared commitment to global connectivity and sustainability. We welcome industry leaders to Barcelona to shape the future of intermodal transport together.”
Fan Landers, Event Director at Intermodal Events, added: “Barcelona has been on our radar for some time.”
“It’s one of Europe’s most significant container hubs, and a fantastic host city for this celebratory edition. Our collaboration with the Port has been central to making this move possible.”
At the core of Intermodal Europe is its diverse and international exhibition, featuring leading container lessors, equipment manufacturers, software providers, and service partners. Attendees can expect live product demos, supplier showcases, and new innovations on display, with direct access to the decision-makers shaping the industry’s future.
The show floor is already over 90% sold out, with confirmed exhibitors including Triton International, Maersk Container Industry A/S, CARU Containers B.V., SeaCube Containers LLC, Seaco Global Limited, CAI International and Carrier Transicold, amongst others. A full list of participants is available via the event website.
