WBWE 2026 to spotlight structural shifts reshaping the global bulk wine and spirits market

Global bulk wine exports fell sharply between April 2025 and March 2026, dropping 10.3% in volume and 11.8% in value, while average prices held steady at €0.78 per litre.
According to the Analysis of Wine Markets (AWM) June 2026 report, this downturn reflects deeper structural changes driven by evolving sourcing strategies, shifting end uses, price pressure and the reconfiguration of global trade flows. “Behind this decline lies profound structural changes driven by shifting sourcing strategies… and the reconfiguration of global trade flows,” the report notes.
Against this backdrop, the World Bulk Wine Exhibition (WBWE) returns to Amsterdam on 30 November–1 December for its 18th edition.
Organised by Vinexposium, the event is strengthening its role as both a global business forum and a hub for market intelligence at a time when the bulk segment is undergoing a strategic reset.
Spain remains the world’s largest exporter, shipping 10.2m hl and offsetting a 5.2% volume decline with a slight rise in value.
Growth opportunities are emerging in regions such as Africa, while diversification is being driven by white wines, varietal wines, bag‑in‑box formats and the expanding No/Lo category.
Cost pressures, freight challenges and shifting sourcing models are also prompting companies to rethink logistics, which are becoming a strategic lever for competitiveness and environmental performance.
WBWE 2026 will bring together producers, traders, importers and buyers from around the world. In 2025, the event welcomed 2,150 trade visitors from 60 markets, with nearly 1,000 business meetings taking place.
The upcoming edition will introduce new origins and market players as businesses seek to strengthen sourcing strategies and unlock growth.
A new hybrid insight space will anchor the exhibition floor, hosting around ten expert-led sessions on No/Lo, resilience, profitability, global market outlooks and value creation through branding and packaging. The International Bulk Wine Competition (IBWC) also returns, with entries opening mid‑September and closing on 9 November.
